Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

UPDATE: This restaurant is beginning to develop a steady customer base. Tonight is the second time we didn't get seated immediately. (First time was Mother's Day.) This will prove to be the toughest stretch for a restaurant business - having enough staff to serve its customers efficiently. Will they get over this hump? Depends on how it is managed and staff scheduled. But this place is definitely here to stay, for sure.

Worst service we've had in a long time. Waited 20 mins for drinks and never received one. Food was good that was brought correctly. Came out one at a time so couldn't enjoy as family. Took 25 mins to get the check. I would keep going really. Sunday late afternoon with terrible service. I am starting to see why a steady business can't stay opened here because the service has always been TERRIBLE. Also worth noting the server was rude, slow and inconsiderate. Will not be back and will certainly share this awful experience with others.

I had the California Burrito with carnitas and the cooks made a mistake so I also had a California with chorizo, too. The burritos are truly enough to feed three people and are very good. The carnitas was well seasoned, though not shredded as fine as I would prefer. The proportion of meat to beans and other ingredients was generous. My wife ordered a taco salad with beef. She described it as rather bland, but edible. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing due to very poor service all around. We were seated promptly, but it took just over 15 minutes for my beer to arrive. It was raining and the roof was leaking above our table, which forced us to move to the bar until another table became available. The next table that became available was given to another group that hasn't yet been seated. It was the hosts first night, so while this detracted from our experience, I can excuse the young man, but management should have been providing more hands on coaching. Our server was perhaps having a bad day, but she was appeared to be quite stressed and did not make her customers feel welcome. Observing other servers and customer reactions confirmed that we were not the only people having a less than outstanding experience. I got the impression that this is not a very enjoyable place to work. The server did offer (unsolicited) to discount our meal by half, which I accepted. Before the discount, two adults and two kids ate for $32, which included one beer. I hope they can correct the service problems because I would love to be able to try more of their menu items, but there are too many other places in Romeo to have a nice evening out with great service for the same cost.

This was our second time here. The food was excellent & the servers were very friendly. We will make this one of our favorites on our restaurant list.

My roommate and I decided we didn't want to cook last night. There are not many choices when you live out here, and especially when my roommate is a vegetarian. We decided to go here. She had ate here before and said it was pretty good. We were seated promptly and brought out chips and salsa. These are not homemade chips as I'm used to when I go to a Mexican restaurant. From there the service appeared to be slow. Took a lot longer then it should have for our waitress to actually come take our drink order and food order. I ordered the choose 2 combo, with a chicken burrito and a beef enchilada and my roommate ordered the vegetable chimichanga. When they arrived her chimichanga definitely did not look like it was deep fried but was huge. Mine looked like any combo you'd get from a Mexican restaurant. Actually for the price it was pretty small. For the 2 dinners, a piña Colada and a soft drink it was $32. Which I think is expensive for a Mexican restaurant.

I stopped in with a couple friends on a Sunday afternoon- This is the fourth restaurant in this location. Will it stick?? I always hope so. So Mexican is about my least favorite cuisine.....not that I don't like many of the ingredients and the taste palate....I just find it rather boring...I mean, how many more ways can you whip up beef, chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, beans, and avocado...I mean really...just because you layer it differently should not mean it gets called a whole other name. Anyway...that's just me...maybe I see too many Taco Bell commercials. So us gals...ordered a Botana as an appetizer and two taco salads...with chicken. We got the chips and salsa...they were okay...we got the Botana...which is basically the above named ingredients...it too was okay...and we got our salads....again, with the above named ingredients, we got the salads with chicken. They were nasty.....The chicken you get in the salad is pulled...and it's all in it's juices so it's super watery...layered over beans...it was just gross...we all thought the chicken tasted like tuna too! Maybe stick with beef for the taco salad. The service was nothing special. No warmth that usually flows in an authentic Mexican restaurant...it was sort of dead...dead...boring...snoozeroo! I would, however, go back. I'm thinking that maybe the time of day was kind of odd...3 ish in the afternoon...I'd like to go back and try the above named ingredients....perhaps with the following ingredients: TEQUILA, all will jive next time!

Drove 40 mins for another restaurant that ended up being closed. Drove a bit further looking for anything & decided to give this place a try. So glad we did. Service was spot on. Professional fast and pleasant. Food was some of the best Mexican we've had. Will now be on our list of places to go when we want to go for a drive!!

Better than Taco Bell of course, but maybe not as good as some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area. It's a great place to go when you're in the mood for Mexican food, but don't want to drive real far.

This building has been a restaurant roulette over the years. Decided to give the new "La Fonda" a try. Chips and Salsa were very tasty. Service was a bit slow but the food was really good and made me forget about the slow service. The Mexican pizza was huge and the Mexican style chorizo taco was great! $2 sodas with only 1 free refill is kind of cheesy but you really don't need more than one large soda anyway. NO LIQUOR LICENSE

Good Mexican restaurant, food is more texmex than authentic mexican, if you want authentic mexican try Taqueria El Michoacano. Portions are huge, service was really good, would definitely recommend this place, and plan on coming back.

So delicious!! We love Mexican style tacos and theirs are great! Good service and comfortable atmosphere. Best refried beans!

Well. We just really love this place! We've been here about ten times now, different times of day, and also gotten take out several times. The negative first: the atmosphere isn't particularly cozy. Not awful, just not super cozy. And a couple of times we were there the service wasn't great. This was NOT because the server was unpleasant or in attentive, but because someone had called in sick. So. I still give it 5 stars because the food is so awesome it makes up for any other imperfections! Wow! I usually get a wet burrito with red sauce and ground beef. You might think that this would be like a burrito at any restaurant, but it is not! The red sauce (which I personally really prefer to the ranchero) is amazing and the grind beef is something really special- the spices are just ridiculously good- much better than your average burrito. I haven't even tried the shredded beef (which I normally would prefer) because the ground beef is too good to branch out. My husband is vegetarian and just asks for a burrito with veggies instead- he said it was amazing, with peppers and onions and broccoli, and didn't suffer at all for not having meat. I love a place that will accommodate requests that aren't on the menu with grace and are able to execute it well! The salsa is also delicious- it's homemade and tastes a little different each time we go. Very fresh, slightly peppery. Yum. I can't speak on the bar- the last time we ate in they didn't have their license yet. But if their drink recipes are anything like their food, it will be amazing. Please go to La Fonda. I've never had to wait for a seat even though they are often a little busy and they are just so tasty.

Really good food. Atmosphere is okay. Unfortunate that they closed off the patio. Dessert was amazing. Banana something. Whipped cream and chocolate!
